Thirty-one Partners Join International Network

NYS Partners in Policymaking Class of 2007

Thirty-one people completed the New York State Partners in Policymaking program on November 3, 2007.  The eight-month program, coordinated by The Advocacy Center,  culminated with a graduation ceremony at the Westchester Marriott in Tarrytown.   The celebration featured a commencement address by Gary DeCarolis, President of the Center for Community Leadership which is based in Burlington, VT.  The graduates join an international network of over 16,000 individuals.  Partners in Policymaking is an innovative national model of leadership development for people with developmental disabilities, parents, and family members.  The 2008 program will be held in Albany.  For more information about the program, contact Joyce Steel at ext. 234.
