The Advocacy Center Elects Two New Board Members



The Advocacy Center is pleased to announce the election of two new members to the Board of Directors. Yamalis Hernandez and Paul DiStefano have generously agreed to share their time and talents to support the mission of our organization.

Yamalis Hernandez is the Program Officer of the Community Investment Division at the United Way of Greater Rochester. Yama brings with her a wealth of local and international cross-cultural experiences, and currently is a member of the HIVAIDS Prevention Planning Group of the N.Y.S. Department of Health AIDS Institute.

Paul DiStefano is a School Psychologist at the Brighton Central School District. Paul has volunteered with a number of local human service organizations, including work on the United Way Program Review Board. He is currently the President-Elect of the Greater Rochester Area School Psychologists organization.

The Advocacy Center is a New York State Parent Training and Information Center (PTIC), serving all of New York except the 5 boroughs of New York City. The PTIC is funded through a grant from the Office of Special Education Programs, U.S. Department of Education.
