Sixteen parents complete Lay Advocacy Training



Sixteen parents recently completed our 8-session lay advocacy training series which prepares them to better advocate for their children with disabilities and to assist other parents with special education advocacy. The training was offered at our office in the City of Rochester and in collaboration with Livingston/Wyoming Arc in Mt. Morris. Of the nine participants who attended in Rochester, two are from Wayne County, one is from Ontario County, and six are from Monroe County, including two from the Rochester City School District. Six parents from Livingston County and one from Wyoming County comprised the class in Mt. Morris.

The Advocacy Center is a New York State Parent Training and Information Center (PTIC), serving all of New York except the 5 boroughs of New York City.
