Shayla Wallace joins The Advocacy Center

We are pleased to welcome Shayla Wallace as a Medicaid Service Coordinator.  Shayla comes to us with three year's experience as a service coordinator and a B.A. in Sociology from Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY.

Shayla shares a little bit about herself:  "I grew up in Henrietta and am the oldest of four kids.   My younger brother has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.  I became an overprotective big sister when I was eight at the time he was diagnosed.  One of my goals as a team member of The Advocacy Center is to bring awareness of how a disability can affect the entire family from a sibling's perspective. As an MSC, I want to help individuals find the tools they need to navigate through their day so that life can be a little easier. One of my pet peeves is hearing 'no' when I know it can be a 'yes' or at least 'up for consideration.'"

Welcome, Shayla!
