Seventeen Parents Complete Partners on Long Island

Long Island/New York City Partners in Policymaking Class of 2008
Long Island/New York City Partners in Policymaking Class of 2008

Seventeen parents recently completed Partners in Policymaking on Long Island.  This regional offering was a collaboration between The Advocacy Center and the Down Syndrome Advocacy Foundation;  it took place from from June - November 2008.

The Long Island edition of Partners was accomplished through a combination of live presentations, web-based self study, and other distance learning modalities.  This initiative was an effort to meet the needs of individuals and family members from the Long Island and New York City regions who were unable to travel to Albany for the traditional eight session series.
