Change Your Perspective?Change the Future

The Advocacy Center is sponsoring a Skill Building Retreat for parents of children with developmental disabilities who live in Allegany and Cattaraugus Counties. The event will be held in Olean, NY beginning Friday, December 8, 2006 at 3 pm and concluding on Saturday, December 9, 2006 at 3 pm. This overnight getaway is free of charge to parents in Allegany and Cattaraugus Counties whose children have a diagnosed developmental disability with a Notice of Decision verifying OMRDD eligibility.

Friday evening will feature a session where participants learn how to recognize the warning signals of stress and learn how to apply stress reduction techniques. Saturday's sessions will focus on developing and employing effective communication and advocacy strategies to achieve positive educational outcomes for your child. Come to relax, build your communication skills, and meet other parents from your region.
