Participants Selected for Partners in Policymaking Class of 2006



Thirty-nine people from twenty-four different counties have been accepted into the 2006 New York State Partners in Policymaking class which will be held in Albany. Partners in Policymaking is an innovative national model of leadership training for people with developmental disabilities, parents and family members. It is designed to provide state-of-the-art knowledge about issues and policies related to disability, and to develop participant competencies to become more effective in influencing policy development at all levels. The overall intent is to achieve a productive partnership between consumers and those in position to make policy.

The Advocacy Center is a New York State Parent Training and Information Center (PTIC), serving all of New York except the 5 boroughs of New York City.
