The Advocacy Center is presenting free leadership sessions for parents of infants and toddlers with disabilities or special needs around New York State. Parents who attend can connect with other parents, learn about early intervention services, and build their leadership skills. The first session was held in April in Long Island. Participants commented: “I plan to use my story to inspire others!” and “I learned how to be an effective leader and I plan to reach out to my community!”

The workshops are sponsored by New York State Department of Health Bureau of Early Intervention, the Family Initiative Project Enhancement at Just Kids Foundation, and The Advocacy Center, with funding from The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.
