Introduction to Special Education on YouTube

Special Education has its origin in the Federal Law known as IDEA, the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act.  The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction has produced a 10 minute video (available on YouTube) that describes the process in a very user-friendly, comprehensive way.  Although some of the details may be slightly different in New York State (for example, we call our team the CSE team - Committee on Special Educaiton, instead of an IEP team), the basic information is a good starting point.  Please contact us for specific questions you may have about your own child's needs.
