Half-day Conference to be held on October 2 ~ The Path to Success: Meeting the Needs of Individuals with Neurological and Behavioral Disorders

The Advocacy Center will present a half-day conference on Thursday, October 2, 2008 entitled The Path to Success: Meeting the Needs of Individuals with Neurological and Behavioral Disorders. Kathy Giordano will discuss how symptoms of neurological disabilities including autism, attention deficit disorder and Tourette syndrome can result in difficult behavior. Participants will learn how positive interventions can support individuals with disabilities and lead to success in a variety of settings.
Percussionist Matt Giordano will share his experiences growing up with Tourette syndrome and attention deficit disorder. The audience will enjoy a drum performance by Matt and have the opportunity to join in the fun with a participatory drum circle.
